The team got up around 4:15 am this morn and had a slooowww transition. They didn’t check out until 6:45 am. We’re going to have to step it up - looks like I’m going to have to start barking out orders when they wake up rather than letting them slowly come back into the land of the living. Sue, Kase, and Margaret can all help with getting everybody out the door.
The next bike leg could be long or it could be short. It was difficult to tell from the Spot tracker how long it actually took other teams. Jon speculated that it could be between 2-20 hours. See the attached video for his commentary:

Denise,
Great job to the whole team–racers AND crew alike!

Thanks for the video–it was good to hear everyone’s voices! It is so way cool to check the leaderboard and see GOALS just SMOKING the course. And to hear that you are exercising your culinary muscles as well.
I’ve decided that my hike today needs to be done with a heavy pack in empathy/commiseration with the team!

P.S. Start flirting with the media guys out there so GOALS can get their rightful place on the news!
P.P.S. Charlie (CC-S Dad) says hi and nice job too.

Hey guys -
You folks look rock-solid in the top third of the field! I’m very jealous as I sit at home watching the kids. Keep up the steady progress…

Hey Goals! You guys are rockin it! Dam, how impressive! We love reading the updates and getting to see the posted photos of you guys. Looks like tons of fun (except for the photos where you’re all bundled up in jackets). We are just so proud of yous! But hey – I came in 2nd in yesterday’s race – so yous are going to have to step it up a bit. Crack that whip Denies! Just keep the doors to the RV locked, put their gear for the next leg outside the door, and throw a can of tuna at them when they come in! That’s how we do it in Texas! Ok, so the Texas teams aren’t doing as well, but heck man – its f ’in cold up there!
We are eagerly waiting for the next repot. In honor of Jon – we are sittin here eating a pint of Ben n Jerry’s.

Jon you definitely have a job in sports broadcasting after your AR career! Have fun, get some rest and crush the rest of the course!

Jon and Jeremy…..you guys are looking fresh and totally coherent in the interview….lol
Good luck on the bike leg. Jon’s estimate of 20 hours at a 2 mile per hour pace sounds right on for day 7 of PQ!
WOOHOO…..you are almost there!!!
Stay focused, get a cat nap, demand food, and harrass your support crew, and repeat.

Umm, that would be thinking about ‘you,’ not ‘it.’
I don’t even know what ‘it’ is.

Hey guys! Back from Promised Land, PA. You should see this elevation! At one point we had this crazy climb of 200 or 300 feet! Imagine that:)
Looks like you guys are holding strong and steady, and I’m so glad to hear your med issues seem to be stable if not slightly improving. I was worried about you guys out there, especially when we ended up unofficial because of med issues at the Cradle!
So keep it up, and finish strong. Everyone was asking about you at the Cradle and we got a few updates out on the course. People were treating us like we were there with you:)
A little birdy told me it’s Ali’s birthday today, so happy birthday, kid!
Keep on rocking!
